Today...

Today I have many things I need to do – my parents will be down this evening to view a house, so I need to prepare a nice dinner, and tidy and clean the house. I have an important letter to write. I need to go shopping. The laundry could do with sorting (the laundry could always do with sorting – I did laundry on Tuesday, the laundry can wait). But am I doing any of those things? (Obviously not – I’m blogging.) Have I started any of those things? Nope.

Why not? Well today is Reverse Psockology Day:

Go on, have a look at your Stitch’n Bitch Knitter’s page-a-day calendar – I know that Chris has done so already – it’s my moment of fame – my pattern is Sock of the Month for January. To mark this auspicious occasion I’m having my own very private little ceremony, and I have cast on using Koigu (which had been earmarked for these, but I decided that The Pattern deserved something special, and semi-solid Koigu counts as special.)

But now – now I really do need to get that letter written…

ten comments:

happy reverse psockology day. I was so excited when I moved the calendar on this morning, forcing Graham to come and witness this auspicous day!

Ah, I knew it was coming up. Happy day of fame!
I’m quite bad with calendars which depend on me to change the day… Since I already have 2 different socks on the needles, I’ll not jump right in today, OK?

Anne: I cast on for your socks tonight here in snowy, cold Southern Ontario. There is some yummy Corriedale handspun I dyed up last night that should be dry soon (purples and pinks and blues). Let’s hope the pretty pattern doesn’t get lost in the colour.

Anne, I have never ever been interested in knitting socks. And then I saw your pattern. I blame you if I become addicted! Congratulations!

Terrific socks! A question, however. The gauge is really not 32st to the inch. What is it? I’d really like to make them but I need to see if I need to adjust the size. Thank alot.

I’m looking at the very picture right now. I won the calendar around Christmas time from my LYS. :o)

Hurray for fame! I was out sick on Friday so I didn’t discover your lovely sock pattern on my page-a-day calendar until this morning. I can’t wait to knit up a pair.

If that wasn’t enough it was also the pattern on Jan 28th in the Pattern a Day calendar this year… yes I have both, one at home and one at work and though I was seeing double.
